Matua in the CommunitySue & Richard have always supported their local community. Since settling on Banks Peninsula that support is focussed in the areas of conservation, arts and culture. Financially they support The Court Theatre, The Isaac Theatre Royal and the Graham Nuthall Classroom Research Trust. Sue volunteers a half day per month at the Orion Gallery, is convenor of a book group, treasurer of the local bridge club and secretary treasurer for the Robinsons Bay Reserve Management Committee. Richard is a member of the bridge & Reserve Management committees & served local Lions for several years. Both are founding members of Whakaroa: Community Conservation Akaroa. Sue is secretary for the group and an area co-ordinator for 5 minute bird counts in conjunction with Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust, Ecan, DoC and Lincoln University. |
